Who should I contact?
You do not need to know exactly which councillor is responsible before getting in touch.
- Contact the President for general JCUSA, University-wide or external matters.
- Contact the Vice-President about the general work of the Student Council or if the President is unavailable.
- Contact the Townsville or Cairns Campus Officer about an issue affecting your campus.
- Contact a portfolio officer about an issue affecting the students or area represented by that position.
- Contact the Secretary about meetings of the Student Council, notices, minutes or governance records.
- Contact the Treasurer about JCUSA’s financial governance.
- If you are still unsure, contact JCUSA and briefly explain your question. We will help point you towards the right representative or service.
Vacant positions
From time to time, a position on the Student Council may become vacant or may not be filled during an election. If you would like to learn more about a vacant position or submit an expression of interest, please contact the President, Vice-President or JCUSA through our general contact pathway. Expressions of interest are considered through the appropriate process under the JCUSA Constitution and Regulations and do not guarantee appointment.
What can I raise with the Student Council?
You can contact the Student Council about:
- A concern affecting a group of students;
- An issue affecting your campus or student cohort;
- An idea you would like JCUSA to raise with JCU;
- Student consultation or representation;
- JCUSA elections, meetings or opportunities to get involved;
- An affiliated Club or Society;
- JCUSA governance, decisions or public statements;
- An opportunity for JCUSA to work with students or another organisation.
