Matteo Medoro
As a Bachelor of Dental Surgery student at JCU, I am passionate about contributing to the university community and making a meaningful difference in the student experience.
Moving from Canada to Cairns has given me a unique perspective on the importance of connection, communication, and creating a welcoming environment. Since arriving, I have actively immersed myself in university life, regularly attending events such as Midweek Mingles and engaging with the wider Cairns community.
As a co-owner of Cultured Eats, a social media channel dedicated to reviewing local food establishments, I actively participate in content creation while helping promote and support local businesses. This experience, alongside my professional background in customer-facing roles, has strengthened my communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
If elected Secretary, I aim to promote transparency, accountability, and effective communication within the Student Association Council. I am committed to ensuring council decisions are accurately documented, information is communicated clearly, and student perspectives are represented.
I see this position as an opportunity to further develop my leadership skills while giving back to a university community that has become an important part of my life.
