Postgraduate Officer

I am Shiqi Zhu, a JCU PhD student and your current Postgraduate Officer. I am standing for re-election to represent postgraduate coursework and research students.

This year, I helped set up the JCUSA Postgraduate Committee with members from Cairns and Townsville. We held our first meeting in July to discuss postgraduate concerns, including the 2027 academic calendar and proposed changes to laboratory support. I have also supported JCUSA campus activities and stayed in touch with postgraduate students.

If re-elected, I will keep the committee active and give students a clear way to raise concerns. My priorities are access to quiet study spaces and rooms, clear information about student support, and fair access to printing, software and computing resources.

I will listen to students balancing classes, placements, research and work, and help postgraduates connect with peers across campuses. I will share short updates on the issues we raise and any progress made.

I would appreciate your support to continue as Postgraduate Officer.
