2019 Elite Athlete Scholarships Announced

This year, JCU Sport had an outstanding crop of student athletes who applied for the 2019 Elite Athlete Scholarship. 

JCU Sport are proud to announce Zac Chrzanowski and Zoe McIntyre as our 2019 JCUSA Elite Athlete Scholarship recipients.  

Zac Chrzanowski

Zac is an outstanding athlete who last year represented JCU in Swimming at UniSport Nationals Div 1.  Last year Zac competed in across 5 events - 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke, 50m butterfly and 100m butterfly.  Zac made the final of both the 100m and 200m backstroke where he finished 8th. 

Zac also last year competed in Fisher Shield in both swimming and water polo where he won a the male MVP award in swimming. 

Zac will be aiming to compete at not only the Swimming Nationals in May but also competing in water polo at Nationals Div 1 in September.  Zac will also be aiming to compete at the Hancock Prospecting Open Nationals which is a selection towards the 2019 World University Games.  We wish Zac all the best and look forward to supporting him this year.

Zoe McIntyre

Zoe McIntyre is a new student to JCU in 2019.  Zoe is a netball player who last year played with the Whitsunday Sharks in the Queensland State Netball League in 2018.  This year Zoe will be taking her game to the next level as she will be competing with the Northern Rays in the new HART Queensland Sapphire Series competition. 

Zoe will also be competing for JCU in women's netball team who will compete at Nationals Div 2 in July as well as Uni v Army in October. 

Zoe has aspirations to be competing in the Suncorp Super Netball Series which is the premier netball competiton in Australia.  We wish Zoe all the best and we look forward to supporting her this year.
