Hannah Egan to prepare the JCU Mixed Touch Team

JCUSA Sport are happy to announce that Hannah Egan will be player/coach for the JCU Mixed Touch team at UniSport Nationals.  

Hannah is heavily involved with touch football as she has previously represented for both Townsville and North Queensland.  She is still playing touch football for Sharks Touch Football Townsville. 

Hannah has also been a coach for touch football over the past 5 years and has been a referee for the past 6 years. 

Hannah is looking forward to managing the team at Nationals this year.    

"When I heard that JCU were looking for a mixed touch football coach, I was really keen to get involved".

“As someone who has been a player, coach and referee, this competition is a great to not only improve my playing abilities but also my coaching abilities.”

JCUSA Sport and Recreation Manager Teisha Condie is happy to have Hannah involved with touch football. 

“Having someone like Hannah who is very passionate about touch football and is keen to be involved with JCU mixed touch football team is a huge asset to us.  Touch football is one of the biggest sports at JCU so we have seen first-hand the talent there is in both Townsville and Cairns”.

The mixed touch football team will be competing at UniSport Nationals Div 2 from July 7 – July 12. 

Training/trials will begin for mixed touch football tonight (Tuesday’s) from 5-6:30pm on the JCU Cricket Oval in Townsville. 

Hannah adds to the JCUSA Sport coaching list joining Campbell Yates (women’s rugby 7s), Jordan Coonan (men’s basketball), Brady Smith and Jenn Hamilton (women’s netball).
