Position Title:  Sport and Recreation Maintenance and Line Marker

Position Description

The role of the Sport and Recreation Maintenance and Line Marker is to provide preparation of sporting fields for users/hirers as well as any general maintenance of the facilities.  The role is to not only assist with facility preparation with the JCU Student Association, programs and services but also for users of the facility including clubs, community groups and more. 

Roles and Responsibilities

• Line Marking the fields for the respective sport(s). This includes line marking multiple sports on the same field(s) for club trainings and home games to a high standard.
• Cleaning rubbish from our sporting facilities. This includes emptying rubbish bins as well as any other rubbish that have been left on the facilities.
• Replace any equipment on our facilities including the replacing of nets for the basketball and netball courts, beach volleyball lines, table and chairs.
• Identify and report to the Sport and Recreation Officer and Sport and Recreation Manager about issues that need to be attended to. This includes any potential irrigation problems, broken/worn down equipment, fencing and holes in the field(s). 
• Assist with any other sport and recreation related matters as directed by the Sport and Recreation Manager.

Special Conditions

It is a requirement of this position to possess:

• a First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate;

Selection and appointments will be assessed against selection criteria.

1. The ability to be able to work autonomously when completing jobs.
2. Be able prioritise tasks.
3. Have the ability to complete tasks to a high standard.
4. Uses their initiative without the need to be directed by manager(s).
5. To be able to do manual handling tasks.
6. Demonstrated experience in maintaining a safe work environment and to all ensure all Workplace Health and Safety requirements are followed.

Highly Desirable

1. Experience in line marking for sporting events.
2. Current C Class Driver’s Licence.
