Nominations

Nominations are called for the following positions on the Fifty-fifth (55th) Student Association Council to take office from 1st November 2024 to 31st October 2025 inclusive.

Office Bearers

• President;
• Vice-president;
• Cairns Campus Officer (who must be enrolled on the Cairns Campus);
• Townsville Campus Officer (who must be enrolled on the Townsville campus)
• First Nations Officer (who must be enrolled & identifies as First Nation)
• International Officer (who must be enrolled as an international student); and
• Postgraduate Officer (who must be enrolled as a postgraduate student).
• Women’s Officer (who must be enrolled & identifies as a Woman)
• Queer Officer (who must be enrolled & identifies as Queer)
• Environment Officer

Eligibility

All Ordinary members of the Student Association who are enrolled as at 9am on 20 September 2024 are eligible to nominate candidates in the categories listed above.

Nominations

Nominations close 4pm on Monday 22nd October 2024. 

Completed nomination forms must be in the hands of the Electoral Officer by 4.00pm on Monday 22nd October 2024. 

Policy statements must be submitted with nominations, or the nomination may be declared invalid at the discretion of the Electoral Officer. No person shall nominate more than one person for any particular position.

Election

The election will be held between 9am Tuesday 29 October 2024 and 4pm Wednesday 30 October 2024.

Polling will be conducted via electronic ballot.
